ABOUT HILLARY
I like therapy to have a point.
I’m a clinical psychologist, and my approach is probably a good fit if you want room to understand yourself while also feeling like we’re actively working on something together.
I care about the why. Why does this keep happening? Why does your brain respond this way? How did your experiences shape what you do now?
But understanding the why is only part of it.
I also want us figuring out what you can do when anxiety takes over, an intrusive thought won’t leave you alone, emotions hit hard, or the plan changes and your brain is really not thrilled about it.
My goal is for you to leave our sessions with a clearer understanding of what we’re working on, why we’re working on it, and something useful to take into the rest of your week.
Therapy can be thoughtful, structured, warm, and human. I don’t think we have to pick one.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
Therapy With Me Is Collaborative, Practical & Evidence-Based
I’m not interested in sitting silently across from you while you try to figure out whether you’re “doing therapy right.”
We’ll talk. I’ll ask questions. I’ll explain what I’m noticing and why I think a particular approach might help. When there’s a skill worth practicing, we’ll practice it.
And if something isn’t working, I want us to talk about that too.
You’re bringing expertise about your life. I’m bringing clinical training, evidence-based treatment, and an outside perspective.
The work happens when we put those things together.
HOW I PRACTICE
CBT, DBT, ERP & ACT Therapy
I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
You don't need to know which one you need.
Different concerns call for different kinds of work, and sometimes the approach changes as we learn more about what’s actually going on.
What I do want is for you to understand why we’re doing something.
No mystery therapy. No following a script just because the acronym says so.

A PARTICULAR PASSION OF MINE
Perinatal Mental Health Therapy for Pregnancy, Postpartum & Infertility
I’m certified in perinatal mental health, and this is an area of work I care deeply about.
Family planning, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and becoming a parent can be incredibly meaningful experiences.
They can also be scary, exhausting, grief-filled, complicated, lonely, or nothing like what you expected.
Often, several of those things are true at once.
You don’t have to make this season sound better or worse than it is here.
We can talk about what it’s actually like.
